In the afternoon visit Angkor Wat, the largest religious building in the world. The late afternoon light provides the best opportunity to observe and photograph the Apsaras. Enjoy sunset at Angkor Wat.
On the way back to your hotel stop at a real, authentic Night Market.
This morning take a remork (similar to the Thai tuk tuk) to visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom which holds many important monuments including the Bayon Temple located in the exact centre.
Around lunchtime return to your hotel where the afternoon is free for you to either explore the pleasant town of Siem Reap on your own accord or relax at your hotel.
This evening enjoy Dinner whilst watching a show of Apsara dancing, first performed in the court of kings at Angkor.
A set menu of Khmer cuisine will be served as you enjoy the show.
In the morning travel to the countryside and to a local village where you will try a hands-on cookery class (shared with other participants).
After an introduction to your chef walk through the village to visit a local family and see many of the ingredients being grown. Return to a purpose built pavilion where you will learn about Khmer cuisine as you cook at your individual work station surrounded by coconut and bamboo trees. A 3 course meal is prepared as part of the interactive lesson. Later enjoy your own cooking.
The afternoon is free.
This evening enjoy some modern Khmer theatre at a performance of Phare, the Cambodian Circus by professional artists from Phare Ponleu Selpak. Originally a project set up in refugee camps as a way to encourage young people to express themselves using art, the Phare circus is slowly becoming a worldwide name and a good example of responsible tourism that has been a success story.
A very special morning awaits you today. Leave the hotel at around 5am to experience sunrise at a choice of Pre Rup Temple or the Sra Srang pool.
Continue to traditional Khmer wooden house is the setting for an energizing noodle breakfast, a very popular Khmer breakfast dish.
Following your hearty breakfast continue to Ta Prohm, also known as the 'Tomb Raider' temple.
In the early evening enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif of an infused rice wine. The workshop is located in a charming wooden house a few minutes’ drive from Siem Reap town. Beautifully hand-painted bottles make for an interesting souvenir.
Continue for dinner at one of Siem Reap’s most popular restaurants serving traditional Khmer food, in a lush contemporary setting.
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. ‘Chum reap lear’ and goodbye to the Kingdom of Wonder.
